Tip of the Day, Nov 18 -$1 Movie Rentals
Like to watch movies once in a while but not often enough to subscribe to Netflix or one of the other mail-order movie rental clubs? In that case, if you want a new release you have to head down to the local video store and shell out $4-5 for a single movie. Return it late and pay dollars a day in late fees.
Check out Redbox. I think most Wal-Marts have them, and you can check online to see where the nearset Redbox is. With over 10,000 locations, one is probably fairly near to you, at least in larger cities. You can even select a movie online and then reserve it at a location near you.
Best of all, no membership to keep track of. Just insert your credit card, select your movie, and enjoy. Return it and your card is charged $1. If you don’t return it the next day, each additional day costs you $1. We’ve used it several times, and it is convenient. The last time we got War, Inc for a $1. The movie stunk, but the Redbox experience didn’t. They don’t have a huge selection, but they are all new releases, so what you want to see is probably there.
